Jail Visitation Regulations

In order to schedule a visit, you must call at least a day in advance, and you must be on the inmate's visitor list that they filled out. We cannot ask inmates to place you on their list, or pass messages of visits that are scheduled or canceled. Two adults and two children, or one adult and three children are the maximum amount of people allowed at one visit. All minors must have their parent or guardian with them. All visits are 45 minutes long. No bags, cell phones, cameras, food or beverages will be allowed in the visitation area, and must be left in your vehicle. Property and money may only be accepted only for the inmate you are seeing on scheduled visits, or through the mail.

Personal Items Information

Inmates may have up to three pair of all white t-shirts, underwear, and socks. In exchange for t-shirts or underwear, they may have up to three pair of all white thermal underwear. These must be new and still in original packaging. Inmates may have lined notebook paper, and stamped envelopes if they are indigent. The above items can be dropped off at a scheduled visit or through the mail. They can have up to 3 subscriptions at a time, and 6 publications total in their possession. No publications with nudity, or partial nudity, or that would be a threat to the security of the jail will be allowed. No hardcover books are allowed. All publications must come directly from the publisher or distributor, through the mail. No food items can be accepted for inmates. They may have medications in their original bottles/packaging dropped off at any time. Inmates may receive money on visits or through the mail. Cash, check, or money order accepted. Inmates may also receive photographs no larger that 5x7 inches, and must not be Polaroid. Photographs are only accepted through the mail.

ELECTRONIC MONITORING ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

In order to be eligible for the program, you must complete the forms and return the completed forms to the Electronic Monitoring Supervisor. When she/he has received your complete application, the Electronic Monitoring Supervisor will meet with you to discuss the rules and terms of the contract of the program. Our Electronic Monitoring Program provider may want to meet with you and the members of the household where you will complete the sentence under the Program. They too may need some forms to be completed and signed. When all the paperwork is completed and signed, we will make the decision to approve or disapprove your application for the Program.
Candidates for the Program must meet certain offense conviction type and other requirements before being considered for entry into the program. Participation in the program is strictly a privilege NOT a right and you will be removed at any time a violation warrants such action.
- There must be a minimum of 20 days to serve.
- Must be convicted in Adams County or another county, but with an established Adams County residence. Established residence means 90 days prior to commencing the jail sentence.
- Must be employed at least 30 hours per week, be a full-time student, or prove a need for child care at least 8 hours per day.
- If the inmate doesn’t meet the criteria from #3, they must be subsisting off retirement or disability income. If an inmate can show independent income to meet the criteria, they will be considered.
- The Inmate must have an established residence approved by the monitoring coordinator.
- Inmate must have a corded phone system compatible to the monitoring program, or agree to modify the phone system to meet the criteria.
- Inmate must agree to abide by all rules of the Jail, Huber and Electronic Monitoring.
- Must complete any recommended assessments and follow through.
- Inmate must sign all necessary release of information forms. This includes information from the Jail, District Attorney, Courts, Probation and Parole, Corporation Counsel and any treatment provider, with the ability to exchange program and/or treatment information.
- Inmate must agree to pay the required fees, 2 weeks in advance.
- You must have approval from the Captain, Huber Officer, and Probation agent (if on probation).
- Out of county inmates who transfer to Adams County, and qualify for the program will be asked to pay $20/daily instead of $16/daily.
- All decisions and exceptions of the above rules are subject to Court and /or Sheriff’s Department approval.
- Inmate must be free of existing warrants and holds. Serving a sentence on the Electronic Monitoring Program after being revoked from Probation and Parole is prohibited.
