The 2009-2010 State of Wisconsin Home Energy Plus Program starts October 1, and runs through May14. the program will be administered at the Adams County Health and Human Services located at 108 E North Street, Friendship.
People wishing to schedule appointments should contact that office by calling (608)339-4505, Monday - Friday, between 8:00am and 4:30pm.
The WHEAP Program is designed to proved some assistance to eligible households to help them with their heating cost. The amount of the assistance will be based on the household's heating and eclectic cost, gross income, and household size.
Household's applying for WHEAP benefits will need to provide documented proof of:
- Social Security Cards or Alien Status card for every person in the home.
Proof of residency.
- Heating and electric costs for twelve (12) months, preferably from September 1, 2008 through August 31, 2009. If you have WE Energy and/or Alliant, please bring your most recent bill.
- If you rent bring Landlord information or rental agreement.
- Child Support ( If you are requesting reports from the Adams County CSA please allow 3 days to process.)
- Proof of ALL GROSS INCOME for the entire household for the 3 months prior to your appointment.
- Households whose heat/electric is included in their rent or who are otherwise unable to provide heating/eclectic cost information will have their benefit calculated using a proxy heating/electric bill.
Failure to bring the necessary information may delay application processing.
